The phenomenon of globalization and the ethical challenges arising from it have increased the necessity of research on global ethics.
Although global ethics, as a part of applied ethics and meaning a set of universal ethical rules and principles, has been formed in the context of Western thought, the capacity to enter this field is also observed in the opinions of some Muslim scholars, such as Allameh Tabataba'i. The present study aims to analytically apply Allameh Tabataba'i's opinions in providing a suitable context for global ethics and is conducted using the method of descriptive-analytical studies. In order to better achieve this goal, the basis of universal ethics in the perspective of the commonality of religions is first stated, relying on the views of Hans Kung and Leonard Sweidler, and then the views of Allameh Tabataba'i, so that the effectiveness of Allameh's view is further clarified in the light of comparison. The important conclusion is that his special attention to the moral dimension of nature as the common nature of humans, inspired by verses and narrations and emphasizing this single nature as the basis of ethical life, provides a suitable basis for the design of global ethics. As far as can be said, theories of universal ethics based on primary humanity or the Golden Rule also originate from moral nature. Since moral nature is an inherent, universal, eternal, and unchangeable thing, emphasizing it can strengthen and perpetuate global morality. Global morality based on moral nature is not imposed on humans from the standpoint of a particular school or religion or through an international agreement, but rather invites all humans to respond to their inner call.
